The Domestic Violence Series is an educational series of nine oil paintings created by artist MeloD. The mission of the series is to serve as a means of raising funds for the cause and to educate communities and individuals on the devastating emotional toll domestic violence takes on its victims. We wish to encourage these same individuals to search for an understanding of the dynamics of this dysfunctional social disease. Through these paintings, we intend to show how violence in the home affects the children who witness it. We strive to create awareness. We encourage dialog. We welcome your comments. We hope this series will touch individuals in a healing manner. The inner scars that children of domestic violence, survivors and abusers bear transcend generations. The healing process can begin now. It starts with one person. One Father. One Mother. One Counselor. One Lawyer. One Judge. Hopefully, The Domestic Violence Series will achieve its goals. There is so much to be learned. Our task is not easy. But it IS possible!
